The Westmorland Inn

My wife and I were pleasantly surprised by the food served in the restaurant. We expected what is generally regarded as "pub grub" but this was not to be the case. It was excellent and what is more a 10% discount was given to hotel guests.

Location couldn't have been better in between Windemere and Bowness. Room was spacious and dog friendly. The food in the restaurant was the best we have had for a long time with excellent service.

The staff were the best, friendliest, most helpful and pleasant that we’ve ever experienced. Our room was small, but it was clean and the bar and restaurant facilities were exactly what we wanted. We even had a fantastic view from our window. We left without a single complaint. The owner told us it was his first year organising Christmas and we loved it and totally appreciated how hard they all worked for us to have a great Christmas.

The room was really comfortable and a good size. The bed was very comfortable and I had the best night's sleep I think I've ever had when not at home. The bedroom and bathroom were clean. The bar was superb and the underground restaurant had a great atmosphere (as well as good food). Staff were really friendly and the location in the centre of Bowness was perfect for touring the south lakes.

Our family stayed here during our family trip to England. The location is terrific! The rooms are clean and functional, and the beds are perfect. Although we did not eat at the restaurant (my daughters fault) I did get a delicious free sample of the sights and smells coming from the kitchen.
